NaPoWriMo 2016 Entry # 11

It’s dark, the sun went down
From my window, a black and blue sky
Time to shut down all the window panes
Time to lock down all the doors and gate
For the dead shall rise, the dead shall rule
The king of zombies will come to devour
This time could be, my sanity and my will
For my body he feasted on and my innocence he took
I need to hide, I need to survive
Save my life, my sanity and my brain

It is another late post, in respond to yesterday’s prompt: “to write a poem in which you closely describe an object or place, and then end with a much more abstract line that doesn’t seemingly have anything to do with that object or place, but which, of course, really does.” I did not write about an object or place, but about a horrifying experience of many girls around the world. I was also trying to make a picture poem, like I always do in my previous napowrimo poems, but I just simply decided not to.
